About Stephanie Rosenbloom

I’ve been a reporter with The Times for more than a decade, with beats in the Business, Styles, and Real Estate sections. Being the lead writer for the Metro desk’s Neediest Cases series was among my earliest and most rewarding assignments.

My latest articles are in the Travel section. Each week I try to help travelers get the most out of their vacations with reviews, deals, tips and trends in the Getaway column. You’ll also find some of my features in “The New York Times, 36 Hours: 150 Weekends in the USA & Canada” (Taschen, 2011) and in “The New York Times Practical Guide to Practically Everything” (St. Martin’s Press, 2006), where I’m a featured writer.

If you want a bit more…

I’ve been a guest on national television and radio programs such as CNN‘s “American Morning” and NBC’s “The Today Show.” I’m a frequent guest on WABC’s “The Frommer’s Travel Show.”

Other appearances include “Travel with Rick Steves,” WNBC’s “Debrief with David Ushery,” Yahoo Finance’s “The Daily Ticker,” WNYC’s “The Takeaway,” WNYC/NPR’s “New Tech City,” WOR Talk Radio’s “The Joan Hamburg Show,” Sirius XM Radio’s “Rudy Maxa’s World,” and WHYY’s “Radio Times.”

I was interviewed for O, The Oprah Magazine‘s “101 Best Pieces of Advice– Ever” issue. And for Aperture Magazine‘s “American Destiny” issue, I wrote about a favorite travel photo. I’ve appeared in videos and on podcasts for nytimes.com. And I’ve joined panels organized by the New York Times Knowledge Network, the New York Times Learning Network, and Parsons the New School for Design. I’ve also participated in Q&A’s for students at New York University’s Department of Journalism and at Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.

Travel with me

Again, if you enjoy slow travel and solo travel, photography, art and design, I hope you’ll come with me by signing up here.

Until then, peace and happy travels,

Thank you Stephanie, I enjoy your writing, perspective, and voice – very much looking forward to the blog.

  2. Stephanie,
Your book is so rewarding! I sent you a longer email through the travel section of the NY Times, but don’t know if you got it. It was about my extraordinary experience of alone time in Paris.
